After the course of many sharpenings, it is possible for your left blade to be shorter or have a different shape than your right blade. When we blade match we correct this by grinding down the high points to match the lows to within 1/32" or less.
Note: Blade matching is NOT for matching two different pairs of steel. That usually involves way more grinding and generally can cost more than buying new steel due to the amount of labor involved. If one of your sets is vastly lower than the other, you would be better off purchasing a new set. Sorry, we do NOT grind down LS3 or LS4 steel to match LS2, this would take hours to do properly.
Note; It is best to order a radius at the same time you are having matching done as matching does not involve radiusing. If your blades need matching, it is likely your radius has been vastly altered as well. If you were to order matching without having a radius done, there is no guaranty what you will end up on your skates. As such this option should not be ordered with just a regular skate sharpening.
